On the 10th and 11th of May we threw a Vintage Wedding Weekend with Luella's Boudoir boutique up in Wimbledon Village. Joining us was Victoria Moy from The English Tea Party, Jo of Emily&Jo stationery, SFC hair and make-up stylists, Tania and Lisa from Magpie Vintage (stunning vintage jewellers) and cake maker Zoe Clark.
The weekend was designed to help vintage brides gather inspiration for their own wedding from a collection of experts, with Luella's Boudoir as a gorgeous back drop full of the most beautiful bespoke accessories.
Victoria Moy from The English Tea Party, a vintage crockery hire company based in Devon transformed the consultation area with some of her beautiful collection. From cake stands and tea cups, to cutlery and crystal wear, she sources all of the crockery herself and has extended coverage to London-which is very exciting for us!
Cake maker Zoe Clark also displayed some of her stunningly detailed cakes, each a real labour of love. Her designs take inspiration from flowers and understated glamour using ribbon, brooches and beautiful sugar flowers. I was also lucky to sample some of her cake-a definite must for anyone with a sweet tooth!
Jo from Emily&Jo was on hand to advise brides about choosing their stationery and brought along a beautiful portfolio packed with their designs. Their style caters for the bride looking for something beautiful with a contemporary vintage twist without the buckles and bows. We love their Secret Garden collection which takes inspiration from vintage wallpaper and fabric prints.
The girls were dreading this (and they'll kill me for doing it!) but here's a picture of some of the team: (Left to right) Jo at Luella's Boudoir, Debbie from the Simply Fabulous Company, myself in the centre, Jo from Emily and Jo and Rachel, Luella's founder.
We hope this event was useful to the brides that visited and that we'll host another in the future. The weather was gorgeous (if a little hot) and Grant-Riley Weddings would like to thank Rachel and Jo for hosting us and keeping us happy with the lovely refreshments!
