Made In Heaven: David Austin Roses

Juliet (Ausjameson)

Last week I had a lovely email from Katie Brooks at David Austin Roses asking if I would like a complimentary bouquet of their roses delivered. Would I?! And after a stupidly busy day it was such a lovely surprise to come home and see the box with my bouquet waiting in the living room.

Established in 1961 by David CH Austin, there is no denying there is something incredibly unique about his hybrid roses. Their distinct billowy appearance, soft vintage tones and heady sweet scent make the perfect choice for a vintage day and look gorgeous in small jam jars and large arrangements as well as bouquets. Their bridal collection is very sweet and well worth a look.

Miranda (Ausimmon)

It's very easy to mistake these beautiful blooms for peonies at first glance and are a fabulous alternative should you miss the season. You can find the four main varieties (all carefully grown and selected on site) such as Juliet (my favourite) Miranda, Patience, Emily and Rosalind on their website. And should you wish to bring a little vintage charm into your garden you can also choose from a selection of container roses.

Thanks to Katie for a lovely surprise!

  3. They are so heavenly I could put them in a bowl with some cream and summer fruits and eat them. If only they tasted as good as they smell!!
