I had to learn to take a step back from planning during that time (not an easy thing for me) and relax. Of course I can never sit still for long and whilst I took a break from weddings from the end of spring onwards, the photo shoots kept on coming...
Rock N Romance
In July, photographer Eliza Claire, hair and make-up extraordinaire Elbie Van Eeden , Rock N Roll blogger Kat Williams and I landed in Whitstable for the day and turned it upside down. The sun was out, the tide was high and we certainly weren't short of inspiration in this seaside location. Check out the full report here!
The Trafalgar Hotel
Back in September this chic and stylish London hotel launched its brand new wedding service and I had a great time designing the concept and styling the shoot for their new brochure. With an old meets new feel, photographer Clare Breheny brought everything to life with the help of dress designer Sabina Motasem and the Powderpuff Girls. I also had the pleasure of becoming the Trafalgar's recommended wedding planner and I'm very much looking forward to planning some fabulous weddings there next year. Take a look at what we achieved...
2010 saw my first full year as Luella's official wedding planner and our very first wedding fair co-hosted with Cosmo Bride magazine at One Marylebone in April this year. It. Was. Fabulous. There were cocktails, new bridal collections by the likes of Charlotte Casadejus and Lisa Redman who are EXCLUSIVE to Luella's Boudoir, as well as a Benefit beauty bar and Sanctuary Spa pampering zone. Watch the Wedding TV footage...
I'm very pleased to announce that in March 2011 we'll be hosting a two day event there again with our incredibly talented exhibitors. Watch this space for news on this.
We were sad to have to say goodbye to Shelley in November who managed the shop and our personal lives (!) over past year and has since left with her husband to travel India for a few months. Her keen eye for design and natural talent for organising helped push Luella's forward. Thank you Shelley!
Vintage Life Magazine
I've really enjoyed writing my series on vintage weddings for Vintage Life Magazine which continues into 2011. It's so exciting to be a part of a brand new project aimed directly at vintage enthusiasts. So far we've read all about the 1920s and 1930s brides, so stay tuned for the 40s, 50s and 60s...
Love My Dress
Over 2010 I made a wonderful friend in Annabel Beeforth, the owner and founder of Love My Dress blog. The fact were we expecting our babies just weeks apart from each other strengthened this friendship and I had the great pleasure of writing for her. A few week back I headed up the Vintage Debate which saw an overwhelming response. I wish Annabel a wonderful 2011 with the new-look blog!
What's In Store For 2011?
I cannot WAIT to get the new year started! There's a number of weddings I'm eager to share with you later on in the spring and early summer and I'm loving working with these incredibly creative and fun-loving couples!
If you're a regular reader of the blog you'll be familiar with the story of how I found my late grandfather and there's a very exciting follow-up coming after I meet with a special contact who has further information to tell me about him.
I'm launching a brand new service in January for professional photographers and designers and I'm looking forward to sharing it with you soon.
Last but by no means least, there'll be some very exciting news on the Luella's Boudoir front and I'm finding it very hard to keep quiet. I'll really be able to get stuck into my designing skills here!
So all that's left to do is to thank everyone for their continued support, be it clients, Twitter friends or the venues and suppliers I've worked with over 2010 and I wish you a very happy, successful and fruitful 2011!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
